This message is inspired by the Reading “The Year of Jubilee” from the Book Overcoming Darkness.

“God Spoke to Moses at Mt. Sinai to speak to the children of Israel, and say to them, when you come into the land which I give you, then shall the land keep a Sabbath unto the Lord.  Six years thou shalt sow thy field, and six years thou shalt prune thy vineyard, and gather in the fruit thereof; But in the seventh year shall be a Sabbath of rest unto the land, a Sabbath for the Lord: thou shalt neither sow thy field, nor prune thy vineyard.

And thou shalt number seven Sabbaths of years unto thee, seven times seven years; and the space of the seven Sabbaths of years shall be unto thee forty and nine years. Then shalt thou cause the Trumpet of the Jubilee to sound on the tenth day of the seventh month, in the day of atonement shall you make the trumpet sound throughout all your land.  And ye shall hallow the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout all the land unto all the inhabitants thereof: it shall be a Jubilee unto you; and ye shall return every man unto his possession, and ye shall return every man unto his family.

A Jubilee shall that fiftieth year be unto you: ye shall not sow, neither reap that which groweth of itself in it, nor gather the grapes in it of thy vine undressed.  For it is the Jubilee; it shall be holy unto you: ye shall eat the increase thereof out of the field. In the year of this Jubilee ye shall return every man unto his possession.” (Leviticus 25: 1-13)

The Holy Spirit inspires the Spirit of Jubilee in our Heart (Led by the Spirit). We dismiss the Cares of this World. We put the Old Man and its sin and iniquities asunder.  God’s Spirit grants us Peace from the evils of the Day. We approach the World with a Childs Heart (as sung by Stevie Wonder) (Ephesians 1:13, John 14:25-26, Ephesians 4: 22-24, Psalm 34:13-15)

In our Year of Jubilee the Scales of Justice Are in Balance (Law of Equity). God returns all that has been unjustly taken from us. God forgives our debts as we forgive our debtors (Forgiveness). We take God’s Yoke upon us. His Yoke is easy and His Burden is Light. (Proverbs 16:9-11, Matthew 6:12-14, Matthew 11:28-30)

Song for the Week:

“The Year of Jubilee” Written and Performed by John Stuckey Jr.

YEAR OF JUBILEE

The Year of Jubilee

How pleasant to my ear

When I see God’s presence

 Reigning Far and Near

All things are forgiven

Our minds are set free

We then set our sights

On obtaining the Victory

The Year of Jubilee

How pleasant to my ear

When I feel his presence

Reigning Far and Near

The Year of Jubilee

When God sets my sights

As Far as He Can See

 How pleasant to my ear
