This Message is inspired by the Reading “Get Close to God” from the Book Overcoming Darkness.

One of the Virtues we must master in our Spiritual Growth is Repentance.  The “I” Spirit is prevalent throughout the World and in our personal conduct. Satan takes great pleasure when we invoke the “I” Spirit.  He knows there is no Remorse when a Self-Righteous Spirit Prevails. With no Remorse, there is no Repentance. (Luke 5: 31-32, Acts 2:38, 2 Timothy 2:26, 1 John 1:9)

We all have sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God (None Are Righteous). God’s Anointed realize when we fall short of God’s Standards we repent and ask God for Forgiveness (Choices). We change the conduct and the thinking that caused our transgression. If we caused harm to someone else for offending their character, we must seek their Forgiveness.

The Self-Righteous Spirit is one of the many of the curses covering the Earth.  A Self-Righteous Spirit causes one to view others with contempt. This Spirit is quick to place Blame and point fingers at another. This Spirit never believes they are the cause of despair. This Spirit fails to realize its shortcomings. This Spirit relies on its own understanding rather than a Thus Sayeth the Lord. Satan leads these individuals to never seek the Truth in all of their affairs (Luke 18:9, Psalm 31:18, Genesis 12:3, Psalm 3:5-6).

Repentance gives us the ability to have (Humility). Humility is essential in making our Calling and Election Sure. We learn to acknowledge our shortcomings and feeble ways. Knowing These Truths sets us free and makes us impermeable to any harm. (Colossians 3:12, 2 Peter 1:10)

When we realize we have made a mistake, we must become humble to make amends for the mistake. Our Spiritual Duty is to Repent and to renew our mind.  Then we gain understanding to acknowledge God in all our Ways. (2 Chronicles 7:13-14, Proverbs 11:2, Proverbs 22:4, Luke 13:7, Ephesians 4:2-6, Romans 12:2, Proverbs 3: 5-6)
