AN EYE FOR AN EYE

This Message is inspired by the Reading, “Evil” from the Book Overcoming Darkness.

We Justify our actions and retaliation by invoking the Spirit, “an Eye for an Eye.” There are Scriptures in the Old Testament that define an Eye for an Eye as Restitution to one who has suffered a loss from another’s actions. The Scriptures also teach us to never render Evil for Evil. Can Scriptures contradict Themselves? We know that it is impossible for God to Lie. We also know that God is not a God of Confusion. When we rightly divide the Word of Truth and Seek Wisdom, we gain access to the Greater Understanding of God’s Work. (Leviticus 24:19-12, Romans 12:17, Hebrews 6:18-19, I Corinthians 14:33, 2 Timothy 2:15, Proverbs 4:7)

Daily, we see Mankind passing Judgment on matters impacting our lives and the World in which we Live. Being Born in Sin and Shaped in Iniquity, do we have the ability to Pass Judgment (Despise the Sin)? We are but a few days and full of Sin. An Eye for an Eye results in our imperfect mind passing Judgment on another imperfect mind.  If none are Righteous, then who can deliver Justice? (I Peter 3:9, Numbers 23:19, Hebrews 6:18, Romans 12:17-19, 1 Corinthians 14:33, Romans 3:23)

Absolute Justice can only come from God (Absolute Authority). God has appointed a Day when He Will Judge the World in Righteousness through Christ Jesus. Seeking First the Kingdom of God and His Righteousness opens our mind to God’s Wisdom. God’s Wisdom from above is without partiality. (Acts 17:31, Matthew 6:33, James 3:17)

In Matthew 5:38, we are admonished to Turn the Other Cheek when we are wronged. Scriptures Teach that Vengeance Belongs to God. He will repay. Judgment belongs to God. His Wisdom is Superior. God’s Ways Are Higher than our Ways. God will never Leave nor Forsake Us. (Matthew 5:38, Romans 12:19-21, Ecclesiastes 3:17, Isaiah 55:11, Hebrews 13:5)

Seeking an Eye for an Eye is seeking Revenge or retribution for a wrong committed against us.   Our Goal is seek Accountability and Justice and to let God’s Justice provide guidance prevail in all of our Affairs. His Wisdom and Perfect Justice has never and will never fail us. When we Reach Out and Give others Love, we are demonstrating through our actions that He Keeps us in Perfect Peace if we focus on His Will. (Romans 12:19, Isaiah 1:17, 1 Corinthians 2:7, Isaiah 26:3)

Song for the Week:

“Evil” Written and Performed by John Stuckey Jr

EVIL

Evil surrounds us every day

All in the form of

Just getting in the way

When we sharpen our skills

Always have great thoughts

This makes us strong

And eliminates all doubts

Evil wears a smiling face

But evil has no lasting grace

It slips and slides in every crack

It pushes harder when you fight back

I say to evil

You can’t keep the pace

God’s grace and glory

Will always win the race
